ambivert builder / creative strategist / advisor for people exploring ideas just ahead of their time
I love to play co-captain to people who don’t settle for status quo.
I work with founders, investors, and ecosystem builders in seasons that call for big ambition, and support that’s high-context, highly versatile, and fun.
Depending on the need, I might be more hands-on facilitating sprints, prototyping a new function, or simply doing whatever’s needed to build what’s next.
Other times, I’m more of a thought partner for complex decisions, generating possibilities, or rerouting direction when focus gets foggy.

“Kristen is often working on wild and meaningful projects.
As a partner at Google Ventures, she scaled Design Sprints across a portfolio of 300+ startups. She helped launch a shadow CDC during COVID. Built first-of-their-kind teams and initiatives like Google’s Brand Studio, and cultural district + economic recovery programs for the City of San Francisco. She’s served as Head of Design Operations at Stripe, and co-founded the award-winning food brand The Sarap Shop. She now runs operations at Character Capital, and moonlights on special projects across tech, venture, and civic innovation.
Kristen’s always my first call when I’m at a turning point and need to figure out how to actually move forward—personally or professionally.
She has this incredible range. She can drop into any (often messy!) situation, and suddenly everyone’s clear on what to do AND having fun. She makes ambiguous work feel actionable, and she does it in a way that’s structured but never rigid.”

Ways to work together
-
I work 1:1 with people who need a high-context sounding board for making decisions, navigating change or a next step, or seeing the bigger picture. I’ve supported people through new roles, existential career questions, sabbaticals, and business launches, pivots, pauses. and wind downs.
Advising is available as a retainer or one-off session like office hours, idea jams, deep dives, or anxiety retirement parties.
-
I embed into early teams as a part-time co-lead to build what doesn’t exist yet, but needs to.
I bring high-range versatility from functions I’ve led and boosted: strategy and operations, brand and design, program development, innovation and AI, and culture and community-building.
Sometimes we’re figuring out a better business model, standing up a new function, launching a program, or prototyping a service. Sometimes it’s rerouting strategy in real time or helping someone lead through a tricky transition—especially when things are ambiguous, cross-functional, and moving fast.
Each engagement is scoped based on the stage, the stakes, and the kind of momentum you’re trying to create.
-
I run Foundation Sprints, Design Sprints, and custom strategy sessions.
These are short, structured containers for things like kicking off a new initiative, rethinking direction, or trying to align around a complex decision.
I’ve developed and facilitated sprints around identity, business ideas, influence mapping, and life and leadership transitions, drawing on frameworks I helped develop with Google Ventures, civic orgs, and cultural leaders.
-
A 60-day structured system for turning “someday” ideas and side quests into real personal experiments.
This is a rev on Google’s 20% model, which I’ve used dozens of times to explore my own interest and help others do the same.
Great for trying things without the pressure to perform or quit your job. Just a time to indulge in curiosity, creativity, and encouragement to explore.

ACE is a 6-month accelerator for early-stage entrepreneurs building identity-rooted, community-centered businesses.
We help you go from idea to prototype to launch, with hands-on business development, culturally-affirming coaching, technical support, and access to funding. Whether you’re opening a brick-and-mortar space, launching a new service model, or creating something that reflects your cultural values, ACE gives you the tools and collaboration to build with confidence.
We built ACE for the next generation of anchors—entrepreneurs who don’t just stay put, but set the tone, shape culture, and become a gravitational pull in their communities. Anchors create space for others to gather, grow, and build toward a future that feels more rooted, more creative, and more possible.
Piloted in San Francisco, where select participants are eligible for up to $20K in commercial lease funding. Now expanding to a national cohort.
-
A 12-week self-management and entrepreneurial skills program to help you get back in the driver’s seat of your life.
For people at a turning point—post-burnout, mid-sabbatical, pre-transition, or just done living on autopilot, on someone else’s terms and timeline. You’ll revisit foundational concepts and learn new language and practices to move with more agency, confidence, and peace of mind.
The program integrates IPEC’s leadership and energy framework with adaptations from my work in venture capital, design thinking, and culturally-affirming entrepreneurship. There’s plenty of low-pressure space to explore what you need to feel more capable navigating what’s next.

I’m drawn to people with a curious spirit. Those who can’t help but wonder, “there must be another way.” The ones who want to do ambitious things at a pace they can savor, and with company that brings good flavor.
